Activating our allies: building capacity for disability inclusion

Join us for an online event hosted by CPActive, dedicated to building the capacity of our community towards greater awareness and inclusion for people with disability.

Hosted by Mon Schafter and facilitated by the CPActive Champions Steering Committee members, this workshop aims to share the experiences of individuals from our CP community in order to provide a practical guide towards inclusion for our allies.

Mon Schafter is a Walkley Award-winning journalist and co-host of ABC TV’s Mardi Gras coverage. Mon has told countless stories for ABC TV’s 7.30 and Hungry Beast, and hosts the ABC podcast Innies + Outies, featuring uniquely Australian stories about coming out or staying in. Mon is the Content Lead of ABCQueer and co-chair of LGBTQIA+ youth support service Twenty10.

We’ll also be joined by Hannah Diviney, renowned writer, author, actress and disability rights activist.

We will share our stories, provide real life perspectives and explore solutions towards inclusion for people with disabilities, harnessing the power of diversity.

This event aims to be as interactive and engaging as possible, with tools to let you ask questions directly to our experts and guide you on your path as an ally to our community.
